History of the song: Wind of Change
Wind of change is a power ballad written in 1990 by Klaus Meine, vocalist of the Scorpions. The band also recorded a Russian version of the song, titled Ветер Перемен and a Spanish version called Vientos de Cambio. The letter was inspired by the political changes in Eastern Europe that occurred in the 90´s as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. Scorpions wrote this song in Moscow, as places are named as Moskva (a river) and Gorky park (an amusement park). Wind of Changes has been used as a hymn to peace and freedom. |
